The Next Step
If treatment is recommended, the next scheduled appointment will be for orthodontic records. This 30 minute visit involves a combination of x-rays, dental impressions and digital photographs. Orthodontic records allow Dr. Kuppers to design a treatment
plan specifically for you.
Placement of Braces
The placement of your braces will take approximately 60 to 90 minutes. Your highly trained Orthodontic Hygienist will assist in the placement of your appliances as prescribed and verified by Dr. Kuppers. She will follow your treatment from beginning to end.
Most of your future orthodontic adjustments will be 8 to 10 weeks apart and will be 15 to 30 minutes in length.
Successful treatment is a cooperative effort. We will work with you, our patients and parents to obtain and ensure a successful result.
The importance of faithfully following directions throughout treatment cannot be over emphasized. For the best results in the shortest time, patients must:
- keep regularly scheduled appointments
- practice good oral hygiene
- wear elastic bands, appliances and retainers as instructed
- avoid eating foods that could damage your appliances
- visit your family dentist regularly
